Becoming a Patient
To become a certified medical marijuana patient in the state of Connecticut, you must do the following:
You must have one of the approved qualifying conditions - CT Qualifying Conditions
A patient may only register for a medical marijuana certificate if he or she is a Connecticut resident being treated for a debilitating medical condition by a Connecticut-licensed physician or advanced practice registered nurse certified with the Connecticut Medical Marijuana program.
Once the certifying physician sends the appropriate online form to the Medical Marijuana Program office, you will receive an email within 2 days instructing you to create a DAS BIZNET Account so you can access the online registration system using the email address you provided to your physician. If you do not receive an email within 2 days, contact your physician's office to confirm your email address and confirm the application was sent. Click here to create your DAS BIZNET account.
After creating your DAS BIZNET account, you will be requested to upload the following documents:
- Proof of Identity (see examples)
- Proof of Connecticut residency (see examples)
- Note as of 7/1/23 - the state of CT has eliminated the $100 fee
After you have uploaded all required documents and submitted your payment, please allow the State 30 business days to process your application.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with your temporary certificate that can be used at your designated dispensary.
